BIOGRAPHY

Michael Oakland, the host of television show “It’s The Music, Man”, is an award winning Producer and Director, and soundtrack designer. A career musician and recording artist, Michael is a uniquely styled virtuosic musician and guitarist who has performed extensively across the country. He has shared the stage or the studio with greats such as Michael McDonald, Paul Winter, John Sebastian, Maria Muldaur, Phoebe Snow, Tom Rush, Will Ackerman (Windham Hill), Joey DiFrancesco (John McLaughlin), Tony Levin (Paul Simon/Peter Gabriel), Ram Das and The Boston Pops Orchestra.

Born in the intellectual Mecca and hotbed of Boston, Massachusetts, Michael’s creative talents blossomed in music at an early age. Continuing to develop as a musician through the culturally turbulent 1960’s and 70’s, he soon stamped his originality on everything from radio jingles to NOVA soundtracks. A variety of this musical diversity may be sampled at the Albums Page and www.tropicgypsy.com.

As a Music Producer, Entertainer, Author and Counseling Astrologer, Michael has forged a richly creative life and a commitment to the “Art “ in all of living. A man who is generally smiling, dancing through the latest endeavor, and landing on his feet! Diversely talented, quick of wit, and a great asset to have from the scrutiny of details, to the keeper of clarity and perspective in the “Big Picture”. Michael currently resides in both Cape Cod and Florida where he maintains a regular performance and entertainment schedule.
